Sending You a Latte Birthday Wishes

I made another card tonight for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop....the prizes, blog candy offering and project are off the chain this time. I hope you can check it out and make some something to enter or just take in all the eye candy. Go HERE for all the details.

This card is for my niece's husband in North Carolina so in addition to a fall theme, I also wanted it to have sports/football feel to it as well.

I used this card sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

I have a little giveaway for you also, just to make this a little more fun. Comment on this post for a chance to win or comment on all my Coffee Lovers Bloghop posts for more chances to win this little prize:

I love those puffy coffee cups from Freckled Fawn so I ordered an extra set recently and I am pairing them up with my last set of coffee to go cup sticky notes from Cocoa Daisy. I will shoes and post a winner after the bloghop on Sunday 9/24.

I am tired so I am going to go to bed. After work tomorrow we are going to the gym and then the Assisted Living to see my Dad and drop off some items he wants me to pick up. But I have plans to come home, shower, make a protein smoothie and make a card. If I am successful at getting everything done, I will be back tomorrow just before bed to post my card. See you then.

Thank You

I have a masculine birthday card that I need to make this week and was going to work on that tonight but I got distracted by some beautiful butterfly stamps that I had never played with before from My Favorite Things and before you know it this happened:

I used this awesome sketch of theirs:

I am entering it in their sketch challenge and in
Pixie's Snippets Playground.....she has an awesome couple of prizes including a Lawn Fawn stamp that I would like to play for. I just cannot resist those adorable Lawn Fawn stamps! My blue paper and those black strips on this card literally came out of my scrap heap (or snippets as I would call them)

Well I am definitely going to bed now...it is late and I did not sleep well last night. I hope tonight is better. Thanks for popping in and checking out my blog.

Fall Coffee Lover Lovers Bloghop Card #2

I am back again with another card for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop. I used a digital freebie from
JessicaLynnOriginal.com ....the little Brentwood Coffee Owl. Isn't he adorable? I used this sketch from the very talented Kerry Urbatch for the Sunday Sip and Share feature on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog

I just love Kerry's cards and sketches....she always inspires me.

Oh and before I forget....I have a couple of little prizes that I want to offer up as some blog candy to thank you for stopping by my blog:

Those little puffy coffee cups from Freckled Fawn are some of my favorites little embellishments. I am on my second package of them. When I ordered my second package, I ordered an extra to give away for this blog hop. Included is my last package of coffee cup shaped sticky notes from Cocoa Daisy....love these. To be in the running just leave me a comment on this post or on all of them if you want to increase your chances. I will pick a winner and post it here on Sunday September 24th.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....don't forget to go check out all the awesome entries and sponsors on the Coffee Lovers Carmakers Bloghop page

Autumn Blessings

It is that time again....time for the Coffee Lovers Bloghop. This one is the fall edition and oh my! what gorgeous cards are being linked up. Amy Tsuruta works very hard on these bloghops and they are something I really look forward to with some great prizes from awesome sponsors just as the frosting on the cake.
I am just a bit late to the party thanks to good ol' Hurricane Irma. I usually start making cards at least a week ahead of time but I was not able to do that this time. We were hit hard by the storm last Sunday night into Monday morning. Let me tell you, it is a very scary thing to have a powerful hurricane hit your area during the night. My hubby was sound asleep and I was wide awake literally shaking in our bed. I heard his cell phone go off with a tornado warning for us and pow! we were hit by either a micro-burst or a weak tornado and it ripped all the shingles off the south side of our roof. That part of the roof just happens to be over my scraproom so I am very grateful that we did not get any water intrusion. But we were without power until Friday night and needless to say until today, there was no time for creativity. I did get into my scraproom today and created this card with the awesome Viva La Verve sketch from Julee Tilman at Verve Stamps:

The sentiment and coffee cup image are digital stamps that Julee designed and created as well....what a talented lady.
I am offering some blog candy for one of the commenters on my blog posts this week (yes....this bloghop runs through Friday 9/22) Just leave me a comment and I will pick and post a winner next Sunday 9/24/17. Here is my prize I am offering:

That is it for tonight....I need to get to bed. We are exceptionally busy at work because as some of you know, my husband and I work in sales for a roofing distribution company. Hurricanes mean crazy busy days for us so I need to get some rest.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and please make sure to check out all the other entries in this bloghop and maybe even enter your own creations for a chance to win one of many awesome prizes. Just go HERE for all the details.

Housewarming Card

Wow....this has been a rough week.  Hurricane Irma hit our area hard and we lost most of our roof (just the shingles, thankfully). We were without power for 5 long, hot, humid days. My in-laws generously lent us their generator when their power never went out. Generators are really noisy and thirsty little buggers....it cost about $40 per day in hard to find gasoline to keep it running. But I was so grateful because we were able to keep from losing the contents of our refrigerator/freezer. And then the generator stopped putting out power....nice. So we packed everything up and moved over to my dad's home which had the power restored already. We got our power back Friday night so this weekend was spent trying to clean-up and put everything back in order. Whew! I am exhausted and my weekend is already over....back to work in the morning.

Before the storm hit, I made this card for my husband's brother and family who just moved into a big beautiful new home in North Carolina. My friend Suzanne made me that adorable mailbox with her Cricut years ago and I recently found it in my stash. I knew it was perfect for this card. I used this card sketch from Stick It Down:

Well, that is about it for now. I may share in another post a card I made today....or I may just go sit on the couch and watch the football game. I need a little relaxation time.

First Day Back -- Grade 4

My granddaughters were not very cooperative according to my son when he wanted to take the picture for the first day of school. But he got a couple of them and I was able to make the layout earlier this week. This is my granddaughter Abby on her first day of 4th grade. I used this sketch from Grand Diva's Creative Corner:

I am also entering this page in Rochelle Spears' September Scrappy Friends' Challenge

The 3 school supplies items I used are:

That is it for now....one more blog post and then I am turning off my computer as we are in the midst of Hurricane Irma. Luckily we are in the northeast area of Florida so hopefully we will be spared the brunt of the storm.

Art of Animation

I have been working on pages for the Disney album I am making for my son and granddaughters. We had an awesome trip together this summer and I am hoping it will be a trip they will all remember for their whole lifetime. So I am putting together and album for them and hope to have it done to send them for Christmas. Above you can see the two pages together. I used this awesome sketch from

I loved that big cog on the right hand page. I immediately though of doing a silhouette of Mickey Mouse in place of that cog. Then I scrolled down on the Let's Scrap blog post and saw that one of the design team members had the same idea!!

Here is what the left hand page looks like close up:

and here is a close up of the right hand page:

When we first checked into the Art Of Animation at Disney, we just had to walk around and take pictures....that place is AWESOME!!

Well that is all for now. I will be back tomorrow. I have more projects to share and want to get them all blogged before Hurricane Irma rolls into town because internet access may be spotty for a few days.

Thanks for stopping in.

Jingle All the Way -- MFT Sketch Challenge

This card is my first attempt at masking. It is simple but it is a start and I can see making a TON of cards with this technique. I used this sketch from My Favorite Things:

I changed the sketch just a bit to better suit my colored panel....that is what I love about sketches. They inspire me but I can still put my own spin on them.

I am also entering this card in the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #358 Masking. It was this challenge (and awesome prize) that inspired me to watch an evening full of You Tube videos on masking. I am hooked and will be doing a lot more masking in the future...now I need to get some masking fluid.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp It Challenge

That is it for now. Hopefully I will be back later to share a two page layout I recently completed.

Hipster Potamus

My grandson is turning 16 years old tomorrow. How he got to be 16, I have no clue. I remember taking him to Disney World on my birthday when he was 7 and he bought me a Donald Duck rubber duckie which is still on the ledge of my bath tub. I remember him at the age of 2 and a half sitting at the foot of a Christmas tree watching the Santa train go around and around and saying over and over "Ho, ho, ho Merry Christmas" (in his best Santa voice). I remember taking him to Chuckie Cheese and how good he was and he didn't even cry when it was time to leave. I also remember after leaving Chuckie Cheese he sat in the back of the car in his little card seat and instead of complaining that he was hungry, he said he liked food, tomato soup in fact. It was just last week it seemed that he was this cute little boy:

So, of course I made a card and stuffed it with a gift card and love, lots of love. I sent it 1100 miles away and I will talk to him later today. (Well, as much as a 16 year old boy will talk, anyway) I love Jacob....Happy Birthday! I miss you and I hope to see you again soon.

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes

Well that is it for now....I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend. I am especially going ro enjoy sleeping in tomorrow.

Kelsey's card

My niece Kelsey recently turned 14. She lives in Michigan so we do not get to see her very often but I always send her a handmade birthday card....she likes to craft and loves to receive my cards. I hope I inspire her. I used this pretty sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap for this girlie card:

I have been participating in a little challenge with a small group of online friends to complete 30-ish projects in 30 days. Tomorrow is day 30 and tonight I completed my 28th project. I think I can get one or two more done tomorrow evening and I am very happy with that. Working the long hours that I do and going to the gym after work 3 days a week, it is sometimes hard to start a project at 8 or 8:30pm. But I have pushed myself and got a great deal accomplished. I just might keep it up through September....I have a number of birthdays coming up and also want to work on my granddaughters' Disney album.

So with that I am going to clear some emails out of my inbox and hit the sheets.

Thanks for popping in.

Winter Wishes

Just popping in real quick to share another Christmas card that I made this month. This one is with the awesome sketch from Julee Tilman at Verve. I am sooo glad she brought bought the sketch challenge at Viva La Verve:

That's it for me now....off to start my busy day. Thanks for stopping in.

Oh Snap!

I am still wooking on Christmas cards here and there and here is a cute little card that I made with this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

I am also entering this card in the Muse Christmas Visions August Challenge. I was inspired for this card by the gingerbread man in the upper left corner of this picture:

That is it for me tonight....I am exhausted and have stayed up WAY too late. I will regret this in the morning....lol

I absolutely love this picture that I took of Dave and our grandsons in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana last June. Just the fact that nearly 16 yr. old Jacob even posed for a picture is a testament of what a good kid he is. He knows his grandmother is ALL about family photos. It was such a bright and happy day, the page I did needed to be bright and happy also. I used this fun, fun sketch from

I followed the sketch pretty closely with the exception of moving the title to the left because I used a 5x7 enlargement of the photo. In addition to the sketch for the challenge, the page also had to feature all males which is no problem and I had to tell you how I was inspired by this mood board:

I was inspired by the clouds in my picture and added them in place of the stars on the sketch. I also used several of the colors. If you count all the colors in my photo as well, I think every color from this mood board is present on my page.

I am also entering this page in the Scrap Our Stash August Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I followed along right across the bottom and used and Emoji, Brads and Washi Tape. The Emoji is in the title having been substituted for the letter O in MEMORIES. The Brads are right below the title...the cent brad says LOVE and is flanked on either side by yellow brads. Finally the Washi Tape is the somewhat had to see thin glittery tape right under the red strip of stars at the top of the page.

That is it for now....this weekend was busy and WAY too short. I am soooo looking forward to next weekend when we have 3 days off. Thank you for stopping in my blog.

Plane Awesome

This summer was a summer of "firsts" for my granddaughters. They took their first train, boat and airplane rides. I will be documenting every part of it because, well that is what I do. This page documents the first trip on a plane. Dave and I were right across the aisle and except for a little nervousness on take-off from Izzy, the girls enjoyed it immensely. Our destination was Florida so you will be seeing loads of Florida vacation pictures and pages the next few months.

I used this awesome sketch from Laura Whitaker for Stuck?Sketches:

I am entering it in their SKETCH CHALLENGE
There is still plenty of time to enter...hope you check it out and get inspired like I did.

Well....tomorrow is Friday.....my favorite day of the work week. I will be back to blog a birthday card for a special little family member tomorrow. Thanks for popping in.

Don't Get Your Tinsel in A Tangle

I saw the most awesome sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch over the weekend and just knew I wanted to create a card with it. This card (almost) turned out like I pictured in my mind. I used this sketch:

I am entering this card in the CAS(E) This Sketch CTS #235
the Muse Christmas Vision August Challenge

This card was inspired by the fabulous penguin card of Cornelia's.

And lastly, I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Add a Sentiment Challenge

Thanks for stopping buy....I hope your week is productive.

Be Merry

Sometimes I just love making masculine cards and this simple yet masculine card is one that came together quickly and that I was instantly pleased with it. I was inspired my Cornelia's deer head card from Muse Christmas Visions:

I am entering it in their August Challenge.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Add a Sentiment Challenge.

That is it for tonight....I want to go to bed and get a good night's sleep.

Catch ya'll tomorrow.

You're On The Nice List

I am really still loving making Christmas cards although birthday season is coming up in my family so I am going to need to switch to birthday cards soon but in the mean time I love this card I have to share with you today. I used 2 different stamp sets from My Favorite Things and their sketch this week:

I am entering it in their Sketch Challenge
in the Muse Christmas Visions August Challenge.

I was inspired by the elf card by Cornelia with a similar "nice list" sentiment
Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Add a Sentiment Challenge

That's all for this card....thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog.

Welcome Baby Alice

I became a great aunt for the first time the end of August when my nephew Kyle and his long time girlfriend Mary had little baby Alice. I really had to get creative to make this card as I do not have any baby products or stamps.  But after thinking about it for a few days I came up with a plan and I think it turned out nicely. Of course a big reason it turned out well was the awesome sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap:

I am also entering this card in the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp Challenge -- Add a Sentiment.

Well that is about it for tonight. I am soooo glad that tomorrow is Friday, how about you?
