Calling All Sistahs November Blog Hop

It is that time again my sisters....time for your monthly reminder to check your breasts and/or make your appointment for your mammogram.  I am again participating in the monthly Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays.  There are some awesome cards along the blog and some inspirational stories too. I made a card to remind a good friend of mine to go for her long-overdue mammogram. She is the care taker of her 90+ year old mother and her 87 year old aunt.  Since becoming their sole caregivers she has neglected her own health a bit and I am hoping my card will be the little nudge she needs to make her appointment. Here is my card:

I used this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday:

This blog hop has a special place in my heart because on August 17th of this year I saw the reminder to make my mammogram appointment and remembered that I was 2 months past due for my screening. I made the appointment that day and a week later a very small mass was discovered in my right breast. It was stage one breast cancer and on September 30, I had a lumpectomy and intraoperative radiation. 6 weeks later, I am done with my cancer treatment and I am cancer free. I owe a great deal to Michele (the owner of CAS-ual Fridays) and many of the ladies in this blog hop as they reached out to me with love and encouragement. Early detection really does work!

There are awesome prizes and inspiration to be found along the way and Michele even donates 50% of the profits from the Calling All Sistahs Collection to nationalbreastcancer.org  You have until Nov. 19 to comment to win. So hop along and spread the word and we would love to have you join our blog hop next month!  Your next stop on the blog hop is the fabulous Shona Chambers....a friend from down under.
Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Sandi, I am honored to have you joining us this month and thrilled that you are done with your cancer treatments. Thank you for reminding your friend to take care of herself. It's too easy to neglect our own health, as women, because we are too busy taking care of others. Thank you for being a part of the Calling All Sistahs blog hop and reinforcing how important Michele's message is. <3
