Practice Makes Perfect

My youngest grandson loves to skateboard and spends hours doing it.  He even brought his skateboard to Florida when he and his family came out in June. So it is no wonder that I have scrapped many pictures of him on a skateboard starting when he was 2 or 3 years old.  Here is another one.  I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to check out my blog.  I will be back later to share another creation.

Hog Heaven card

I love these little piggies from the Hog Heaven stamp set by My Favorite Things. I could just color them up all day long.  I even broke out some long neglected Doodlebug Cupcake Braddies for this card.  I used this awesome sketch from MFT:

I am entering this card in the sketch challenge at MFT and also the Tuesday Throw Down Happy Birthday Challenge which was a fun challenge this week.

I just finished another scrapbook page this evening but you will have to wait until tomorrow to see it as it is dark here now and I missed my window of opportunity to photograph it. So until tomorrow....thanks for stopping by my blog.

Create Your Own Sunshine

Last week my son texted me that he was at the pool with my granddaughters. I texted him back and asked him to take some pictures.  Not 10 minutes later he sent me 3 pictures of my adorable granddaughters including this one of Abby , the oldest.  I just loved it and knew just the paper to use with it for her scrapbook. I also used this awesome Sketches in Thyme sketch

In addition to the sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme I am also entering this page in the July Challenge to use butterflies in my work at Another Freakin' Scrappy Challenge. I have a little yellow butterfly just about the right side of my swaggy banner.

Well it is getting down to the end of the month and I still have a few projects planned for challenges this month.  So between now and Sunday evening, I should have several more cards and layouts to share.

Love, Love, Love You

It is hard to believe that these pictures were taken nearly 15 years ago.  The baby in the photos is the boy that made me a grandma....Jacob who will be 15 in about a month.  What a sweet baby and little boy he was and what an awesome young man he is now becoming.  I though it was about time that these sweet pictures were scrapped.  I used this great sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

All the products on this page (with the exception of the Dream Big cloud) are from my very favorite company Bella Blvd.  I love how easy it is to mix and match their collections.

I have set a goal to create something every night this week.  Two nights down and 3 more to go.  I hope I can do it. If I do, I will be back tomorrow night to share.

Invasion of the Man Cave

My husband is spoiled to put it mildly. He has a man cave all to himself fully equipped with a sound system, and gaming consoles and fo course all the latest and greatest games.  And he doesn't have to share since we are empty nesters and I am NOT into gaming....lol. However this summer we had my 10 year old and 14 year old grandsons visit for 10 days and if they could they would have taken up permanent residence in the man cave.  In reality, Dave did not mind sharing at all with them but he always let them think he was aggravated.  Of course they hardly noticed....look at their faces in the picture for proof of that.  LOL We had a great time with them and are looking forward to the next time they come to visit.

I used the awesome Stuck Sketches July 1 sketch and am entering this page in their challenge.

Well that is about it for now.  I hope to back tomorrow to share another page....this one has baby pictures on it.

Be Happy

We had a lovely day together with my granddaughters while we were in Chicago in May.  We went to Lincoln Park Zoo and just had fun being together.  One of my favorite animals in the zoo are the flamingos and the girls loved them too. I decided to make this page so we could all remember the day.  I used this awesome sketch from Stuck? Sketches:

I am also entering this page in the July Anything Goes Challenge at Clique Kits.

Well that is it for my weekend. Another five days of work but I have some evening projects planned this week if I am not too tired.  Do you scrap during the week?

Happy Holidays...Christmas in July #10

I am still knocking out some Christmas in July cards. I actually have made about 15....this is the tenth one I have shared here.  For this card I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

I have several more posts to write tonight as I have been a productive gal this weekend.  Thanks for checking out my creations.

Shipshape

My husband and I work together and we have a co-worker who is undergoing cancer treatment and having a rather rough time of it.  I have been sending him cards on a regular basis to encourage him and this is another that I made over this weekend.  I am entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Nautical/By the Sea Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight.

Celebrate Your Day

I love the current pineapple trend.  They are one of my favorite fruits. I remember being in Hawaii and driving near the Dole pineapple plant and how the air smelled of pineapple....what a wonderful aroma! I made this card for a dear friend who is having a birthday next month and I know she loves pineapples as much as I do. I used this sketch od Corri Garza's for Paper Issues:

I am entering this card in Cupcake Inspirations current challenge #367 -- Tropical

Isn't that the most awesome inspiration picture?? I was inspired by the pineapple and the yellow and green.

Well that is it for today....I was very busy today so I will have loads of blogging to do tomorrow so don't forget to stop back and check my posts. I hope your weekend is all you want/need it to be.

Christmas in July #9

At this rate I am going to have to keep making Christmas cards in August, September and October to have my 60-70 cards made that I plan to send out.  But it really does not matter because I am process oriented and I am LOVING the process of making my cards this year.  This card uses one of my brand new Pure Innocence Stamps from My Favorite Things.  I am just learning how to color with my Copics and I am pleased with the way this image turned out. This little girl really looks like my granddaughter Izzy which is one reason I love these stamps so much. I used this sketch from

I am also entering this card in the Mod Squad Get Krafty Challenge. The background paper is from My Mind's Eye Kraftday Funday collection and the panel that my image is on is also kraft.  Red paired with kraft is one of my favorite color combinations.

Well it's finally the weekend and I made a bunch of cards tonight that I will be blogging about over the weekend.  Tomorrow I hope to work on a couple of layouts....including one double pager.  Catch ya'll later....Happy Friday!!

Christmas in July #8

Here is Christmas in July card #8.  I made several cards with this color combo and I just LOVE it. It is slightly untraditional for Christmas and that is probably what I like about it.  I used this sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I am also entering this card in Your Next Stamp's color challenge:

Hey! Tomorrow is Friday....my favorite work day.  This weekend I am planning to go to the gym and a perhaps an early morning bike ride and then a couple great days of scrappiness.  What are your plans???

Change

Change is tough....tougher for some people than for others.  One of my sons is going through a tough time right now and I wanted to encourage him as well as make him smile.  I made this card tonight and hope it achieves that purpose. I used one of my favorite Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamps and
this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

That is it for tonight....but stop back tomorrow for another Christmas in July card.  Until then....I hope you are having a perfectly lovely week.

One Goofy Family

We had the most awesome family vacation this summer.  My son came down here to Florida with his boys and we had a blast.  One of the first days they were here we went to Disney Hollywood Studios and as soon as we got there we met up with Goofy and got a couple of family pictures taken. I scrapped these photos once before for my personal scrapbook and this one is for my son's scrapbook of the trip.  I am entering the Scrappy Friends Challenge because I used this fun sketch from

I am also entering it into Rochelle Spears This and That Challenge

I used a paperclip....it is a yellow star shaped paper clip just above the word Family in my title.

The last challenge I am entering this page in is the Anything Goes Challenge over at Clique Kits

Thanks for stopping by my blog....we are over the work week hump and only 2 more work days to go....woo hoo!

From Our Flock to Yours

Here is my 7th Christmas in July card.  I am not keeping up with a card a day....I had hoped to but life has gotten in the way.  I could get a lot more crafting done if I didn't have to go to my darn job 50 hours a week.  But then I wouldn't have any money for pretty paper. Such a conundrum! LOL Anyway I decided to create a tropical themed card as I live in Florida.  I will probably send this to one of my friends or family members in the cold and frozen north at Christmas time....you know just to rub it in a bit...lol.  I used this awesome sketch from Viva La Verve

I am also entering this card in the color challenge at Your Next Stamp Color Challenge

And I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Things With Wings Challenge......because while they do not use them to fly, flamingos DO have wings!

Thank you for stooping by my blog today.  I will be back later today to share my latest layout....AND it is a Disney layout which is one of my very favorites to do!

Cole's Top 10 at 10

I made a layout like this for my oldest grandson Jacob when he was 10.  I just LOVE the age of 10 years old....no childish stubbornness, no adolescent moodiness...just pure joyful childhood with an occasional peek of the emerging awesome adult. Cole is a great kid and a lot of fun.  I wanted to capture a snippet of what he is like right here, right now.  After all that is why we scrap, isn't it?  I used this awesome sketch from Paper Issues:

I am also entering this page in the Scrapbook Circle July Challenge -- On Deck.  The challenge is to use wood....no problem for me, since all my project usually feature some wood veneer.  Also the paper I printed Cole's top 10 on is a wood grain pattern. BAM! How's that for rockin' the challenge...lol!
And finally, the last challenge that I am entering this page is the Anything Goes July Challenge at Clique Kits.  I absolutely LOVE their kits!

Well, Monday is in the books....time to hit the sheets.  I will be back tomorrow to share another Christmas in July card.

Christmas in July #6

Here is another Christmas In July card.  I really had fun with this one. I used this sketch AND the color challenge from Your Next Stamp

I just loved the color combination when I saw it and it just screamed Christmas to me.  So much so that I {may} have used the same color combo on a few other cards. But more on that later.....

Thank you for stopping by to check out my blog.  I appreciate the visit.

Christmas in July with a Verve sketch

I know I have mentioned it before but it bears repeating....I just love Verve stamps, sketches and Julee Tilman has got to be one of the sweetest people in the industry. She offered the sentiment that I have on my card today as a freebie last December and I printed several sheets of them.  Now this same sentiment is included in an awesome stamp set for sale in the Verve STORE.  I used the above inspiring sketch from the sketch challenge blog Viva La Verve to create this card:

As you can tell, I am still working on my Christmas in July cards. My goal is to have 25-30 Christmas cards made this month which will really be helpful when December 1st comes around.  This year, when I complete them, I am also addressing them. So I should be way ahead of the game during the busy Christmas season.

Well back to work....the laundry is calling me!  Thanks for taking time out of your day to look at my blog.

Hip Hip Hooray

Our 4 year old niece Lily will be turning 5 this fall and takes ballet so I wanted to make a card for her with a dancer theme.  I found this awesome ballerina die online and snatched it up specifically to make this card. I used this awesome sketch from Die Cuttin' Divas:

Isn't this just the perfect sketch to use?  I love entering the challenges a Die Cuttin' Divas but I often run out of time.  I am glad I was able to make this one work.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I have a busy day crafting and blogging planned....it is just too brutally hot to spend any time outside.  But that is always the case with Florida in July.  Enjoy your Sunday!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Well I am back to Christmas in July and I really enjoyed making the two cards that I made tonight.  This was one of them.  I used the current Mojo Monday sketch:

That awesome sentiment was a Verve freebie that Julee Tilman designed nearly a year ago.  The good news is, that you can get a stamp set now with that sentiment.  It is on my wishlist ...right near the top.  You can get your own right HERE Want some more good news? There is a big sale going on right now.....I think I am talking myself into that set...lol.

That is it for now....I am off to bed because I am married to a slave driver who will be waking me up in less than 6 hours to go to the gym. I hate getting up and going but I am always glad afterwards that I went.  I feel great all day after starting my day out with some time at the gym.

Seas-ons Greetings

I really wanted to play along with the ombre challenge at Newton's Nook.  Since I am working on Christmas cards this month I broke out one of my favorite stamp sets and went to work this evening coloring up and cutting out these adorable images. I think I need to get the matching dies for this stamp set if they are available....cutting out that octopus was a TON of work...lol!! I made the background for my scene to fit the ombre challenge....both the water and the sky.

This is such a fun stamp set that I am going to leave it out on my desk and play with it some more this month.  Thanks for dropping in to check out my blog.

Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge

This is my second card that I made with the current sketch at Your Next Stamp.  This time I not only followed this awesome sketch:

But I also played along with their color challenge:

I got all the colors in...even the green which is on the middle pennant.  I am really loving the combination of pink and yellow lately, aren't you?

Thanks for stopping by tonight....my work week is half over so I am a happy girl tonight!

Oink Oink!

I am absolutely crazy over my new stamp set from My Favorite things.  How cute is this little pic?  I just love all the images and pun-ny sentiments and will be using this set a lot.  I used it today with the current sketch at My Favorite Things:

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

That's it for me....it is off to bed I must go since tomorrow is back to work.  Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Merry Christmoose

Welcome to the second of my Christmas in July cards.  This is the same Sugar Pea stamp set that I used yesterday for my first card but I love it and wanted to use it again along with the sketch from Mix It Up Challenge #4

It was HOT here today in Florida....some areas had a heat index of 112 degrees so I decided that considering it was a holiday and I didn't have to go anywhere I would stay in the air conditioning and have some fun making this card.  I am also entering it in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Well it is back to work for me tomorrow but I have enjoyed an awesome 4 days off. And in four more days it will be the weekend again....YAY! I live for the weekends.
