Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop #3

Well here is my third post for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  I really enjoyed pulling out my coffee themed stamps and dies and creating with them over this past weekend.
Check out the details and the gorgeous projects HERE

Here is the card I created.  That COFFEE die is from Verve and I love it....it cuts like butter.  The coffee cup die is from Simon Says Stamp and I adore the heart cutout. The stamped sentiment is from My Creative Time and the papers and wood veneer I just pulled out of my stash.

I used this sketch from Viva La Verve:

Thanks for stopping by....I hope your weekend was as productive as mine and that your week ahead is awesome.

You Make Me Happy

I was glad that I got the time to scrap a little this afternoon.  It has been a busy weekend to get everything done that needs to get done seeing that we work so many hours M-F.  I had this picture sitting on my desk for awhile of my grandsons and I last summer and I finally found just the right sketch to use to get it documented. The sketch is by Laura Whitaker who never ceases to amaze me.  I just love her sketches.  Here is the one I used for this page:

I am also entering this page in Clique Kits September Anything Goes Challenge.

There are still a couple of days left to enter and there is an awesome prize so go ahead....just DO IT!!

Warm Thoughts...Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I love coffee....I really did not start drinking coffee until I was into my 50's and once I discovered iced coffee a few years ago, well, I am HOOKED.  This time of year I am enjoying my Pumpkin Spice iced coffee....yum!  Yes, I am one of those Pumpkin Spice people but I really only indulge in Pumpkin Spice iced coffee.  I am not into all the other Pumpkin flavored and scented items this time of year.  In fact, I really am not a big fan of pumpkin pie, either -- unless there is whipped cream. Yes LOTS of homemade whipped cream.

I am, however, a big fan of Amy Tsuruta, her card creations and her seasonal blog hops that she works so hard at sponsoring.  So I am thrilled that I found some time this weekend to make some cards to enter in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I used my Verve scripty COFFEE die cut and this sketch from Viva La Verve:

I LOVE their sketches!  There is still time to enter the September sketch challenges and there are 4 awesome sketches to work with.  Just go HERE for more details.

I am also entering this card in the Monday Simon Says Stamp Use a Stamp Challenge

Thanks for stopping by....hope your weekend is lovely.

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I am really excited that I got to sit down this morning and make some coffee themed cards for the Coffee Lovers Fall Blog Hop.  I was too busy to participate in the summer blog hop.  Amy Tsuruta puts a great deal of work into these hops and they are just so much fun with such fabulous projects!  Oh, and did I mention there are prizes....there are LOTS of awesome prizes.

This is my first card that I want to share for the blog hop:

I used this awesome sketch from Viva La Verve:

Don't you just LOVE that coffee cup die cut? The sentiment is from My Creative Time.  And my owl?  He was 25 cents at a local charity's resale shop. I love him...today is the first day I broke him out.  He only hangs around as a photo prop for a few weeks in the fall and then gets packed away.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge to Use a Stamp

There is plenty of time to join in the Blog Hop.  Click HERE for more details.

Edited 11/9/15 to add: I am linking this card up to the current issue of Paper Issues...Let Me Espresso My Gratitude

Sending Love and Good Vibes

Sometimes making cards is hard....like sympathy cards and cards for terminally ill friends.  I put off making this card for awhile because I have a friend who is very ill and may not recover,  But I love her and she always would send me an email and comment/thank me for a card I had sent her.  She lives out of town and I am not sure I will get another chance to see her in this life. That makes me very sad. I used my Avery Elle stamp set with the little paper airplane because she was always conscious of good vibes and positive statements. I am sending her all the good vibes and positive energy that I can muster right now and I hope she feels the love.

My inspiration for this card was this wonderful sketch #247 from My Favorite Things:

There is still time to enter a card you make with this sketch.  I hope you will.

Let's Fiesta -- Project Life card

I have been documenting our everyday life for three years now so I like to change things up every once in awhile.  I got some fun new stamps from The Alley Way recently and I thought it would be fun to use them to spice up (no pun intended) this pocket page card for Cinco de Mayo this past May.  I stamped and colored the fun images with my Copics and cut them out and adhered them directly to the photo. The sentiment was perfect also, don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by my blog and SMILE -- it is almost the weekend.

Pancakes With Piggy

It has been a couple of months since I was able to play along with the sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Circle and I have really missed it.  Diana Fisher is the sketch designer and I love her sketches and look forward to them each month.  For the last couple of months my creative space was being renovated and while it was soooo worth it, it put my crafting pretty much out of commission.  I was able to do a couple of cards and pocket pages only with my set-up at our kitchen table.  But I am back and my mojo has been flowing and I am really enjoying crafting in my room now.  Everything is all reorganized and I actually know what I have and where it is...lol.  C'mon...you know exactly what I mean!!  Here is Diana's sketch I used:

I used papers and embellishments from the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy collection.  What a fun collection that is! And it works perfectly with these photos of my granddaughter Izzy and the piggy that was in the box of birthday goodies from Dave and I.  She just turned 4 and couldn't be any cuter even if she tried.

Well....that is about it for tonight.  Thank you for stopping by --- I really appreciate your comments.

5th Birthday

I have had this 30 year old photo printed and on my desk for a LONG time and I finally grabbed it and decided to get it done.  My mom is pictured in this photo along with my boys in 1985.  My mom was crazy about her grandchildren (I know the feeling...I am too!).  Matt was very into super heroes when he was 4 and 5 with Batman as his favorite.  Mom had a friend of hers make him a Batman cake for his 5th birthday party.  Mom has been gone now for 15 years and I really miss her.  This is one of the few pictures with her in it....I wish I had more.

I used this great sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

I am also entering this page in Clique Kit's September Anything Goes challenge.

Enjoy your weekend -- I am sure enjoying mine!

I Love These Crazy Birds

I recently acquired the stamp set of Tim Holtz's Crazy Birds and the matching Thinlits die set.  I have just moved back into my new creative space after last month's renovations, so I am just now getting a chance to play with my new goodies.  I thought that this bird coupled with these papers would make a good masculine birthday card for my brother in law.  I used this sketch from My Favorite Things:

Since I also am using this stamp and die for the first time I am entering this card in the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge.

And finally, I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp and Die challenge.

Thanks for coming by tonight....I hope your weekend was as good as mine.  Have a wonderful week!

Gracias

I got up early this morning and made this card.  I was actually thinking about it while I slept, I think.  Does anyone else ever do that?  I woke up while it was still dark and went immediately to my craft room (even before my cuppa joe) and started working on this.  I was excited to use my never before used stamp set from Alley Way Stamps for the cacti and the sentiment and to attempt to color the cacti with my Copics.  I am just learning how to use them and often I am not happy with the results but I was ok with these.  Not super proud but they turned out ok.

I used this great sketch from Sugar Pea Designs because I REALLY want to win some of their stamps now that I am learning to color images.

I am entering this card in the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge since this was the first time I used these Alley Way stamps.
That's about it for now.  I have more creating, laundry and blogging to do while watching football.  I LOVE my weekends!

29?

My niece's husband, Daniel is having a birthday soon and I recently asked her how old he is going to be so I could make him a personalized card.  When she told me 29 I about flipped...how perfect for this card I was thinking of creating!!  And 29?  He is just a puppy!  He really makes my niece happy and I am so glad about that.  Dave and I will get to see him and Frances next month when we go up to North Carolina for a family weekend.

I used several Paper Smooches stamps in my effort to stamp a humorous background.  I have never stamped a background before and quickly found out that it is not as easy as you might think.  I definitely need some more practice. I am entering this card in this week's Paper Smooches Anything Goes Sparks challenge.  If you want to enter, you need to hurry because the deadline is in just a couple of hours.

I am also entering this card in the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp Use a Stamp challenge
and the Tuesday Throwdown Anything Goes Challenge

Thanks for stopping by my blog...I appreciate every visit.

Smile

I have been very inspired and motivated to create in my newly redecorated/reorganized creative space.  In fact, the color combo of this card was inspired by the new paint colors in my room. I love how soothing the aqua is and how energizing the coral color is.

I used this pretty sketch sketch from Mojo Monday:

In addition, I am entering this card into the Anything Goes challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.
and
the Use a Stamp Challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog.

Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful day!
