Missing You

I have a little box of goodies going out to my one of my sons and his family this coming week and I wanted to make a card to go in it.  So I broke out my Lawn Fawn Wish You Were Here Stamp and die set and whipped up this card.  It looks harder than it was.  Those dies make it easy.

I used this card sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I am still nursing a very sore back and I need to get back on the heating pad.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.

With Sympathy

As a card maker the card I like making the least is a sympathy card.  I often will just head to Hallmark and pick one up instead of making one.  But this weekend I decided to make one for a friend out on the west coast who lost her dad over the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out my card.

Breckenridge, Colorado

My husband Dave and I just got back from a wonderful trip to Colorado.  In addition to seeing some of the most beautiful scenery on earth we also got to spend quite a bit of time with my 82 year old dad who still gets around pretty well.  Our first destination was Breckenridge.  Neither Dave nor I had been there before and we fell in love with this quaint little former mining town now turned ski resort.

I used this sketch from the first challenge at Scrap & Play Challenges:

I added 3 photos instead of two and added my journaling on the left instead of the right side of the page.

I hope your long weekend was all you wanted it to be and that you have a good and productive  (shortened) week.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.

You Are Awesome

My DIL Amy is graduating with honors this coming weekend with a degree in Finance.  We are all very proud of her.  I made this card to celebrate her graduation.  It may be a bit non-traditional but I did not have any graduation paper or stamps and the message on the card conveys our sentiments exactly.  She IS awesome.

I used this sketch from My Favorite Things:

I am also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Spring Flowers challenge.

Thanks for checking out my blog....hoping that your weekend is restful, relaxing and filled with everything you want it filled with.

Happy Mother's Day #2

We celebrated Mother's Day last weekend with Dave's mom and dad.  We had a good time and good food.  I had ordered her a pretty wreath online which had been delivered the day before we got together and I also made this card for her.

I am not a big fan of ribbon (probably because I cannot tie a decent bow) but I love my crinkle ribbon.  I got this particular cream colored crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot. The  color is called Vanilla Bean and you can see more info on it by clicking HERE.

I am entering this card in these challenges:

Where Dreams Come True

This past Saturday was National Scrapbooking day.  While I was checking out all the awesome projects, contests, challenges and sales, I came upon the Queen & Co. blog.  Challenge #1 was to create a scrapbook page that is Disney or theme park based.  I have plenty of Disney photos that have not yet been scrapped so I decided to scrap one last night. It had been quite awhile since I scrapped a Disney page.

I used Queen & Co Magic Tags and their adorable washi tape. The sketch is from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I am also entering this page in Scrap Our Stash's May Challenge.

My something old is the black and white polka dot paper which has been in my stash since I started scrapping 6+ years ago.  Also my photo is not new....it was taken in November 2010.
Something new is my Queen & Co Magic Tags and washi tape
Something fussy cut is the camera that I cut out from one of the 3x4 Magic journaling cards.
Something blue is the three blue enamel dots in the sky of my photo.

Thanks for checking out my blog.....I will soon be having a giveaway to celebrate hitting 200+ followers on here over the weekend.  Stay tuned....details to come later this week.

Happy Mother's Day

I made this Mother's Day card for my lovely daughter-in-law Amy today and need to get it in the mail tomorrow.  She is a hard working mom who works full time, attends school online and in the evenings and still finds time to be wife to my son Matt and mommy to my granddaughters Abby and Izzy.  I appreciate at how hard she is working to make a better life for them. She will be graduating with her associates degree in June and enrolling for her bachelors in the fall.  We are all proud of her and love her death..

I used this pretty sketch from My Favorite Things:

The sentiment is from an older Stampin' Up set, the hearts were cut with my brand new Lawn Fawn heart dies and that to die for sparkly paper is from the DCWV Glitter Stack. The oval dies are Stampin' Up Oval Framelits and the purple polka dot paper is from my stash.

Thanks for checking out my blog tonight....I hope you got a chance to get crafty this weekend for National Scrapbook Day yesterday.

Kiwi Lane Designs Blog Hop

I am thrilled today to be part of the Kiwi Lane Designs May Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Connie Wallenbrock's blog.  If not, you might want to start at the beginning of the hop HERE.
I was recently sent the Tiny Bracket accessory set and it was soooo much fun to work with. I just traced and cut out my brackets but you can just cut around the brackets with craft scissors or a craft knife....easy peasy!  There are so many other templates available I can see myself getting all of these!

Well on to my project.  I created this card using all the brackets in the set:

I used my Lawn Fawn Year Four Birthday set of stamps and coordinating dies for the images and sentiment.  Just for fun, I used all patterned papers from Lawn Fawn also.  I think the real stars of my card however are the brackets which frame the card and lead your eyes right to the those cute critters and sentiment.  These brackets are so versatile I can see using them not only in my cardmaking but also in my pocket page scrapping.

Now about the blog hop.....wait until you see all the talented ladies and their lovely creations!  Don't forget to hop along to all the blogs....there are prizes along the way including the grand prize of a $25 gift certificate to the Kiwi Lane Shop.  The winner will be announced on Thurday May 8th. The blog hop runs through midnight on Sunday evening.

I will also be sending out some awesome blog candy to one lucky commenter on my blog so make sure to leave me a comment.  I will be posting a winner early next week so be sure to check back to see if you have won.
