Put on Your Party Dress

I really have been missing my grandchildren more than usual this week so I decided to scrap a page featuring the girls -- Abby and Izzy.  Scrapping really does help me not miss them so much and is therapeutic for me. I bought these party dresses for the girls to wear to Abby's 5th birthday party.

I am entering this page in the following challenges:

Thank you so much for checking out my blog...hope ya'll are having a wonderful weekend.

Project Life -- week #17

Here is another week done -- week #17 which was the end of April and was fairly uneventful.  On weeks when I do not have a lot of photos or things to document I either do a one page entry or as in this case I use a number of filler cards.  I am happy with the way it turned out. One more week in the life documented.

Here is a closer look at each page:

I am entering this 2 page spread in the following challenges:

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger:
Scene in Tangerine -- I was really inspired to use the same colors as this trigger photo:

I am also entering it in Stuck on U Sketches Project Life Challenge to use twine.

You Are My Strong Anchor

Have I said how much I love the current nautical trend?  Yes, I think I have said so but it bears repeating because I loved the nautical look before it was trendy.  So I love all the cool products coming out this summer with the nautical influence front and center.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch for my card:

Thanks for checking out my blog....hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

I am also linking this card up to Paper Issues Endless Summer Themes which you can see HERE

Nearly 12

There is not much about life that depresses me except the inevitable loss of loved ones and how quickly children grow up.  My oldest grandson Jacob (pictured above) will be 12 in just a couple of months.  He sure is growing tall, mature and responsible while keeping and maintaining the sweetest, kindest spirit.  I am very proud of him and miss seeing him tremendously.  My son, Jake's dad took this picture with Instagram and lucky for me also posted it on Facebook so I could print it.  I print my own pictures and I love how the Instagram pictures print as 4x4.

I used this sketch from Artful Delight:

All Star

Both of my grandsons are playing baseball this summer for the first time and are doing quite well.  I love this picture of Cole catching and wanted to do a page for him with it.

I used Pebbles Seen and Noted collection (the Bingo card is from Simole Stories 24/7 collection) and this sketch from Paper Secrets:

Paper Secrets also added a twist to their challenge to use an element with numbers so I included the BINGO card.

I am also entering this layout in About a Boy's June 1st challenge to scrap a favorite summer activity.

Thanks for checking out my blog....have a wonderful week.

Congratulations

I have a friend of mine who is a nurse and just recently got an ICU job that she had been hoping for so I wanted to send her my congratulations.  I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Don't you just love that little nurse badge?  And....it looks just like her!  LOL

Project Life Week #16

I am so excited about a new Project Life challenge blog called Week-2-Week that my friend Suzanne and I started.  Our very first challenge went live today.  You can get all the details HERE.

There is so much I love about doing PL and one of them is including all the journaling that normally would never appear on my traditional layouts.  Our first challenge at W-2-W is to include a "currently" card.  Here is an up close shot of my completed card:

On this 2 page spread I journaled about turning 110K on our car, our weekday schedule, the NHL hockey season, my curent dreams, likes, wishes, feelings and thoughts.  Also included were notes on the weekly laundry and Dave's yard work.  It truly IS telling the story of my life.

I am entering this spread in Lasting Memories Tell Me a Story Challenge.

Thanks for dropping by and please check out our new blog.

A Clean and Simple Father's Day Card

I have a gem of a father-in-law.  He gave up his day off this past Monday to take me for surgery on my hand so my husband could work.  That is just the way he and my mother-in-law are....wonderful, giving people.  I wanted to make him a special card to give him this weekend.  I used an older CTMH stamp set called Shore is Fun for the image and the sentiment is from my new Verve set Strong Anchor.

I used this sketch from Artful Delight:

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Transportation Challenge
and
CAS-ual Fridays Mapquest challenge

Way to Go Dude

I have a large number of DCWV stacks and I decided to use The Guy Stack for this end of the school year card for my grandson.  I store all my DCWV stacks separately from my other paper and I often forget to reach for them when choosing paper for a project.  Thanks to the Use it Tuesday masculine challenge I remembered to use my stash.  I also used the June DCWV card sketch:

CAS-ual Fridays Flag/Banner challenge

I have been off work all this week due to surgery on my left hand on Monday.  I was feeling better yesterday and actually made a simple card.  Today was not such a good day as I have had a great deal more pain, some back problems and my stomach is acting up because of all the medication I have been taking.  Hopefully I will be feeling a bit better tomorrow and Friday.  I REALLY need to go back to work on Monday.

CAS-ual Fridays has a challenge this week to use banners or flags so I used a couple of Bella Blvd flags on this birthday card for my husband's niece.  It is also my first attempt to use sequins on a project.  I am not sure I like them on this card....I think they are a little too large.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Another Father's Day card

I made another Father's Day card using my new stamp set from Verve (see my previous post HERE for info on the trendy set)

This time I used this sketch from Cas(e) this Sketch and kept my card clean and simple.

I am also entering my card in Simon Says Stamp's Masculine/Father's Day challenge.

Did you hear the awesome news? My friend Suzanne and I are starting a challenge blog for Project Lifers. It is called Week-2-Week and we are having a big giveaway to get the word out.....see all the details HERE.

Father's Day Wishes

Last month I was lucky enough to win an awesome Verve stamp set.  This is it here:

Tonight I inked it up, used papers from my 6x6 Fancy Pants Down By the Shore and used this sketch from Mojo Monday:

I just LOVE the way it turned out (don't you love it when that happens?)

Enjoy the Journey Week #15

Being that it is just Dave and I at home, some weeks I only do a one page spread in my Project Life album.  I know that most everyone does a double page spread for EVERY week but I figure hey, it's MY album, right?  This week contained Dave's birthday, a Blackhawks win and a big happy mail day.

I am entering it in Stuck on U Sketches first ever Project Life challenge.  I do both traditional and PL pages but there are very few PL challenges out there.  Thank you to the gals over at Stuck on U for including all of us PL'ers.  The challenge is to add a button (or more).  I have my two buttons up in my hockey card.  I love those flair buttons that I get in my Studio Calico PL monthly kits.

A little over a year ago (February 2012 to be exact) I made this card and I really liked it so I kept it to send off to a special person.  Well I recently heard of a brave, young girl battling cancer for the second time.  Her name is Maddy and Simon Says Stamp is running  a program to make and send a card to her.  I decided to send this card to Maddy along with an encouraging note inside.
