Wishing You.....

Have you ever made a card and liked it so much that you duplicate it?  Well this is a re-do of a card that I made last year.  I love the clean and simple design and I had one more hand crocheted snowflake from my friend Kim to use.  I am entering it in CAS-ual Fridays Winter Blues challenge.

Thanks for stopping bu the blog....I will be sharing a new Christmas project every day this week.

Owl I Want For Christmas

I love using non-traditional Christmas colors to make holiday projects.  The Lawn Fawn papers used on this tag are not even from a Christmas collection but rather from Dewey Decimal.  The Christmas owl image and sentiment is one of my new favorites and I inked it up for the first time for this project.  I will probably end up using this tag on a card for my hubby or I may stick it in one of his gifts with a little personal message on the back. (wink, wink)

I am entering this tag in Lawnscaping's tag challenge:

I am linking this project up to Paper Issues "My Favorite" theme as this was definitely one of my favorite projects of 2012.

Very Merry

I just love the little snowman on this card.  Living here in Florida this is about as close as I get to a snowman...a cute little Woolie one.  And I'm ok with that!

I used this great Basic Grey sketch for my card:

I also used Eskimo Kisses paper from Basic Grey and that adorable snowman and present with the star on it is from a package of Woolies.  I hoard my BG papers and embellies for just a card like this.
I am entering this card in their sketch contest which you can get all the details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Thankful for You

I really love and appreciate my Dad.  And miss him....I really miss him.  He lives in the foothills of the Rockies in Colorado and I live by the beach on the east coast of Florida.  It has been nearly a year since I have seen him and I am hoping to have him come out maybe in February to spend his birthday with us.  And we are planning a trip to see him as soon as all his snow melts next spring or summer.  In the meantime I made this card for him and I will talk to him over the weekend.

I am entering this card over at the challenge this week on My Craft Spot's blog to make a Thanksgiving card.

Just the 3 of Us

My 4 year old granddaughter Abby was soooo excited to see us this past August.  This picture was taken shortly after we arrived and I LOVE the excitement on her face!  This has to be one of my favorite pictures ever so I definitely wanted to scrap it.  I was just talking to Miss Abby on the phone and she asked me to come over for Thanksgiving tomorrow.  Oh, if only I wasn't 1100 miles away!  I don't know who was more disappointed -- her or me that we won't be there.

I used a combination of older Bella Blvd collections on this page and this sketch from my Scraps and More:

Thanks for checking out my blog and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Holiday Napkin Holder

I love shopping at thrift stores because you never know what you will find.  A couple of months ago I picked up a couple of these wooden gift boxes for 50 cents apiece.

I worked on one of them yesterday and it is now a holiday napkin holder:

Happy Thanksgiving

I love creating with the colors of fall....I know I have said that before but it bears repeating.  I just love the touch of blue in this card which for some may not be a fall color but I for one see a great deal of blue this time of year. This card is already on it's way to the midwest to my son and his family's home.  I cannot be there to break the wishbone with them but I still sent my love in this little card.

Have a wonderful Turkey Day everyone!!

Cards for Carol

I made this card for a dear online friend of mine.  Carol loved to make cards and made many, many cards and sent them to Operation Write Home.  Unfortunately a few months ago, due to Carol's helath and her daughter's illness (her daughter was her care giver), Carol had to move into a nursing home.  She is unable to make cards anymore and is no longer online.  The changes in Carols' life have been difficult for her and I recently got her address and want to bless her like she blessed so many others.....by sending her cards.  I made this card and a few others and I am sending them to her so she will have some cards to send out to family and friends.  I included thank you cards, birthday cards, Thanksgiving cards, Christmas cards and some thinking of you cards.  If you would like to join me in my "Cards for Carol" please leave me your email address in the comments sections and I will contact you with Carol's address. I suggest making one card to bless her and one card for her to give away.

I used Artful Delight's sketch for this card:

I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Challenge to make a sympathy or thinking of you card.

peace hope joy

While at lunch today I was looking at blogs and came across the Bo Bunny Card challenge that was posted today.  BUT the challenge was not to make a card but rather a tag.  I thought about that for awhile after lunch and when I got home from work today I started going through my Bo Bunny drawer looking for some Christmas themed papers so I could make a Christmas tag.  But alas! I had no Bo Bunny Christmas papers.  I kept looking and I found my package of Camp-A-Lot Noteworthy die-cuts.  In there was two awesome trees and I picked this tall skinny tree (which looks very Dr. Seuss-like to me) I also found the yellow tree topper star and the red star I glued on my jute bow.  At the bottom of the drawer I found two perfect sheets of bo Bunny paper....the green Clover Dot and the beautiful Wild Berry Vintage Dot. I added some wooden star veneers and the stamped sentiment is by Paper Smooches.  I also added some Glossy accents to the star tree topper.

I was so excited that through a little creativity I was able to use papers and die cuts that are not specifically from a Christmas collection for a Christmas project.  I just love the versatility of Bo Bunny's collections.

I am entering this tag in these challenges:

Happy Birthday Pops

My wonderful father-in-law has a birthday this month and I decided tonight to make him a clean and simple fall themed card.  The maple leaf is actually a wood veneer that I colored orange with my Adirondack Orange Sunset paint dabber and inked the edges with brown chalk ink.  Keeping it simple I used a clean graphic birthday sentiment from Bella Blvd.  I added some chevron washi tape, faux stitching and some jute twine and called it done.

I am entering it in the following challenges:

Scrap Fit Workout #79 Tape it Up (use washi)

CAS-ual Fridays Masculine theme

Trendy Twine November Challenge
Create a project for someone I am thankful for with an autumn theme, using brown, with faux or real stitching and using Trendy Twine.  Since I unfortunately do not have any Trendy Twine I used jute twine.

Fall Fun

I love scrapping fall pictures and using the rich warm colors of the season so I was thrilled when my son Matt posted this picture of hie and his family on Facebook taken during a recent trip to the apple orchard.  Unfortunately due to the extreme weather this spring and summer, there were no apples to be picked but there was plenty to see and do.

For this page I used this sketch from the brand new My Scraps and More sketch blog:

I used my new "Thankful" collection from Bella Blvd. and I added some burlap for texture.  The cork alphas from my stash were the perfect touch, don't you think?  Because of the burlap and cork alphas, I am linking this layout up to Moxie Fab World's Canvas, Cork and Burlap challenge.

I am also entering it over at Scrap It Girl's November Tree challenge.

Happy Birthday Reyna

Reyna has recently become part of our family and is turning 6 this week. I wanted to make her a special birthday card so I turned to my very favorite of all time birthday collection.....Birthday Bash by Imaginisce.  I punch an oval window in the polka dot paper so the birthday cake rub-on could shine through and I used this sketch by Imaginisce:

I am entering it in their monthly challenge which you can see HERE.

My three pattern papers are:
The polka dot paper, the paper at the bottom of the card and I cut the "Happy Birthday to You" sentiment out of a third paper.  All the papers are from the Birthday Bash collection.

My three embellishments are:
The balloons
The twine
The birthday cake rub-on

Reyna

Reyna is a beautiful little girl who has recently come to live with (and be spoiled by) my wonderful and big-hearted sister Geri and her husband Bob.  Reyna (which means "Queen" in Spanish) is having a birthday this week and I wanted to send her a gift.  I made a card and this layout last night and will be sending then off to the Midwest tomorrow.  I am so glad that Reyna has a forever home with my sister and that she is now a member of our family.

For this layout I used this sketch from the Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs:

I am also entering this layout at Red Carpet Studio's CAS challenge this week.

Now that Halloween is over I still have a few projects that I never shared on my blog because I didn't want to spoil the surprise for my grandsons.  I sent a box of spooky cards and treats up there and they really enjoyed receiving them.  I even got a phone call thanking me from my11 year old grandson Jacob which is his card pictured above.

I also made this gift bag for Cole, his brother:
